Activities September 2010

  • Living in Harmony pot luck dinner evening at Senior Citizens Hall, Norris St. Tauranga, 7 p.m. start. This month’s theme –   TBC                    Date: Thursday 9th Sept.

 

  • Coffee morning in Katikati first Saturday of the month at Rustic Pumpkin Café, State Highway 2. 6kms north from Katikati township. This month on 4th Sept

 

  • Newcomers’ Coffee morning at Tauranga Regional Multicultural Council office – Historic Village, 17th Ave, Tauranga  10.30 a.m. to 12noon  on Wednesday mornings (every week)- This month on Wednesdays 1st, 8th, 15th, 22nd & 29th Sept.

                                          

  • Women’s Group meet monthly on the last Friday of every month at lunchtime - a different member’s home each month. Covers Tauranga/Papamoa/Mt Maunganui/Bethlehem area.  Contact Ingrid for details. E-mail: niekus99@xtra.co.nz. Or phone on 542 2852.  This month’s meeting on 24th Sept.

 

  • Women’s Group Te Puke - meeting Tuesdays 9am -1pm Anglican Church, Te Puke. Contact Sandra on 5736302

 

  • Justice of the Peace (JP)   in attendance at TRMC office every Thursday 11.30 a.m. – 1.30 p.m.

 

  • English Conversation Classes held at TRMC Office every Thursday morning 9.30 - 11.30 a.m.

Term time only. Thursday 24th September is the last class of TERM 3. Restarts 14th October.

 

  • New Craft Class at TRMC Office the second & fourth Tuesday of every month. Starting Tuesday 7th Sept. Join now & start making your own original decorations in time for Christmas. Call Janet on 5716419 to register.

  • 1st Sept   FIRST DAY OF SPRING (??) J  116 days to Christmas!!
  • 2nd Sept  National Days of Vietnam & Libya
  • 5th Sept   Father’s Day.
  • 7th Sept  Independence Day of Brazil
  • 9th Sept   Steamers v Manawatu at Baypark Stadium, Mt Maunganui. Gates open 5 pm.  For the ladies – Caroline Eves Spring Collection 12.30 – 3.30 pm at the Historic Village Hall, 17th Avenue. Book on 578 2631.
  • 10th – 12th Sept   Boat & Leisure show at Baypark Stadium, Mt Maunganui.
  • 16th Sept   Independence Day of Papua New Guinea.
  • 23rd Sept   Spring Equinox (astronomical first day of Spring)!!  Come on you Kiwis – explain why you celebrate Spring 22 days early!!!!! A prize for the best answer. Call Janet on 5716419 with your explanation.
  • 24th Sept   Primary & Secondary Schools Term 3 ends.    
  • 26th Sept   Dominion Day. Anniversary of the day in 1907 when NZ was granted Dominion Status within the British Empire instead of Crown Colony status, allowing NZ to become virtually independent & self-governing.  Only celebrated as a Public holiday in South Canterbury nowadays. L
  •  26th Sept   Daylight Saving Time starts at 2.00 am. Put your clocks forward ONE hour.
